The winners of the 2021 Founder of the Year Awards were announced in Nairobi, Kenya, at the weekend. 

The annual awards celebrate outstanding young entrepreneurs from Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Ghana, who create jobs by delivering practical and commercially viable solutions that are innovative and sustainable.

This edition featured 14 categories, including the Entertainment Founder of the Year Award, which catered to two age groups: 20 to 30 and 31 to 40. 

“We want to believe in your ideas, young people, startups, empowerment, impact, businesses and founders,” the organisers said. “We believe that young people are a force for change and can create a change in society through innovative and transformational solutions to solve problems, mostly unemployment and poverty eradication.”
