Concerts SA Announces September Digital Mobility Fund Recipients

Back

Concerts SA has announced the recipients for its third edition of Digital Mobility Fund (DMF).

The fund is intended for local artists who want to present a professional, high-quality live-streamed or delayed broadcast performance. Applicants were required to record with a live audience in line with all COVID-19 protocols in place at the time.

A total of 431 applications were received in September with 70 grants worth R30 000 each awarded to projects across the country.

“The DMF focussed on keeping live music in South Africa active through online platforms, accepting proposals from musicians who intended to produce online content for livestreaming or delayed broadcast,” a statement reads. “The first DMF ran from October 2020 to January 2021 and was supported by the RNE and Levedo Foundation. The second DMF, in May/June 2021, facilitated the responsible and swift delivery of funds administered by the National Arts Council of South Africa from the Presidential Employment Stimulus Package.”
